Renew or update your license

You can file your own renewal or administrative update directly with the FCC. Step-by-step instructions are available at this Link

We understand the FCC system can be unintuitive, so Central Alabama VEC also offers assistance:

Administrative Updates (Free)

For changes such as an address update, name change, or requesting a new systematic callsign:

  • Fill out the NCVEC 605 Intake Form and submit it.
  • We’ll send you an electronic NCVEC Quick Form 605 to sign electronically.
  • No FCC fee is required for administrative updates.

License Renewals

You have two options:

Self-Service Option (You File and Pay FCC Directly)

  • Fill out the NCVEC 605 Intake Form and submit it.
  • We’ll prepare the renewal and send you an NCVEC Quick Form 605 to sign.
  • You’ll receive an email from the FCC to pay the $35 application fee. If you don’t receive an email, you must log into CORES and pay directly.
  • FCC requires payment within 10 calendar days, or the application will be dismissed.
  • Important: Renewals can only be filed within 90 days of expiration or during the 2-year grace period after expiration
  • Always use a computer (not a phone or tablet) when paying the FCC application fee to avoid errors.

Full-Service Option ($37 Total)

  • Fill out the NCVEC 605 Intake Form and submit it and make your $37 payment at this link
  • We’ll prepare the renewal and send you an NCVEC Quick Form 605 to sign.
  • We handle the entire renewal process for you, including filing and the FCC fee payment.
  • This option covers the $35 FCC application fee plus a $2 processing fee.
  • We cannot provide an Official Copy of your renewed license , you will need to login to the FCC license manager and download it if required
